We recommend that you test your smoke alarm monthly by pushing the test button. Batteries should be replaced every year, and usually the smoke alarm provides an audible indication (a chirp) when the batteries become weak. Smoke alarms that are not "hard-wired" generally have a 10-year life expectancy and then should be replaced. If you need help with replacement of batteries or the smoke alarm itself, give us a call!
