Important - read through the following to learn about Open Burning
- Residential burning INSIDE the AQMA is NOT allowed November - February OR during fire season.
- If you live outside the AQMA, open burning is allowed on declared burn days and if you have a burn permit. Burn Days are announced every morning on the Burn Line for that day.
Call the Burn Line to see if it is a Burn Day: (541) 776-7007. It must be a Burn Day to open burn.
- If necessary, search your address to determine your location with the AQMA and Fire District 3. The AQMA is designated by diagonal lines on the map. The colored areas of the map are the areas of coverage of Fire District 3.
- Burning of the following items is prohibited:
Household garbage, plastic, wire insulation, automobile parts, asphalt, petroleum products or treated materials, rubber, asbestos, animal remains, animal or vegetable matter resulting from the handling, preparation, cooking or service of food, any material which emits dense smoke or noxious odor.
